Donald Phillips : Harper Download Site
This is a simple web page rather than a full blown web site.
It's used in association with a church in Glasgow, Scotland and it allows for the download of audio files. In fact, these files can usually be downloaded from the primary site Harper Memorial Baptist Church but this web page offers a simple and robust alternative. (Particulary useful when the primary site went down recently.)
The files offered for download (morning and evening services) are, in fact, updated on a weekly basis; there being, therefore, no requirement for library or archive functionality in this particular web page.
The task here was to offer:
- a complementary interface to the primary site
- a straightforward and uncomplicated user interface
- ease of maintenance and update as required
The web page was achieved by use of an uncluttered XHTML file for content with a supporting CSS file for layout. All images were stored at the size required for display. It will be a relatively straightforward matter for the client to update this file simply by uploading the appropriate image(s) and adjusting the XHTML accordingly.
